Sometime later, Zavarov was part of a garrison on Eaton III responsible for guarding a BattleMech salvage and reclamation facility. Sebastian Spears acquired information about it at high cost on the black market and offered it to the Cavaliers, now commanded by Nikolai's son Jake Mason, in exchange for a cut of whatever they could salvage there. Despite fielding a dozen or so 'Mechs, Zavarov was unable to muster a defense strong enough to repel the Cavaliers' attack because most of them were in varying states of disrepair, and she died when her 'Mech's cockpit was destroyed. Black Inferno was delt a significant blow to their operations and Spears received a healthy return on his investment.
