'''Hastur''' was a member of the Magistracy of Canopus when a [[Star League Defense Force]] task force under the command of [[Captain-General]] [[Marion Marik]] was assigned to conquer the Magistracy of Canopus in [[2577]]. New Abilene was targetted by the SLDF in [[2583]] following a disastrous ambush at [[Thurrock]], which destroyed almost the entire Canopian navy. Hastur was conquered quickly by [[VII Corps (Star League)|VII Corps]]' [[402nd Independent Regiment]] with support from the [[3rd Marik Militia]], with only a token resistance offered by forces on the planet before surrender.<ref name="H:RWp103"/><ref name="H:RWp149">''Historical: Reunification War'', p. 149, "Magistracy Of Canopus Front (2583-2588)"</ref>
