On the 22nd of September 3056 Metalhead was one of the combatants in a duel with knives filmed by Archie Westin and his assistant Mariska "Risky" Savage. Duelling with knives or even machine pistols was a method for letting off tension within the Caballeros, and the practise was actually discretely encouraged by the Caballeros Commanding Officer, Carlos "Tiburon" Camacho as a way for the fractious population of the regiment to blow off steam without resorting to fighting each other in 'Mechs, something that was explained to Westin and Savage by Lieutenant Senior Grade Cassiopeia Suthorn during and after the fight. Metalhead's opponent was Macho "Macho Man" Alvarado, a darkly handsome fellow MechWarrior with extremely fast reflexes. Although Macho scored first blood, gashing Metalhead across his gut, Metalhead was the victor, knocking Macho down and pinning him in place for a potentially lethal strike; that blow didn't fall because the duel supervisor, Captain Kali MacDougall, bashed Metalhead over the head with a pool cue and declared the duel over.
