=== Example of what I imagine on a regular basis ===

One thing I wanted to make a few months ago was actually a Robotech and BattleTech crossover (an adventure, rather than just a story), but an important rule I always try to follow when doing any kind of crossover is to not just have a Misjump or Random Omnipotent Being do the work of jamming two universes together, but instead to try to build a unique explanation that would make sense in the context of both involved settings. In the specific case of Robotech and BattleTech, that explanation would be that they're in fact the same universe, just different timelines, meaning Protoculture, Zentraedi and Invid would all exist somewhere beyond the Periphery, and humanity would just be blissfully unaware.

I even started drafting some (extremely unfinished) documents regarding gameplay/construction rules for alien mechs, with Zentraedi mechs being a mix of Superheavy Mechs and ProtoMechs in that respect, and Invid mechs being more akin to ProtoLAMs in the 20-45 Megagram range. One of my friends even suggested making a BattleMech record sheet for a Zentraedi foot soldier, and allocating critical slots for their various internal organs.

Perhaps as a side effect of having Asperger's, basically all of my thoughts regarding BattleTech seem to have MechCommander/MechWarrior music playing alongside them. In this case, I'm picturing that scene from when Scott Bernard first fights an Invid Trooper using his Cyclone power armor, except recreated with MechCommander music and a Clan Elemental.
