Description[edit]
A Bug Scanner is used to detect the presence of bugs, small electronic devices used for the purposes of eavesdropping. A bug scanner will discover the location of any microphone or tracking bug within fifteen meters of its location by detecting the radio signals they transmit. The standard model is a palm-sized device, making it easily transportable, but many government and corporate offices will have them built into their meeting rooms.[1]
A Bug-Scanner Watch is a smaller version of the standard Bug Scanner which has been enclosed within a fully-functional watch. While these watches can also detect the presence of any active bugs, they can only do so to a range of ten meters and cannot pinpoint the exact location of the bug(s).[1]
