Why does Sarna use ads?
- The primary way Sarna stays running is by the banner advertising on the website. We're currently running ads from Google AdSense and Freestar.
Is my privacy going to be impacted by the ads you use?
- If you'd like to learn more about our Privacy Policy as it relates to advertising, you can read Policy:Privacy#Advertising.
What do I do when I see ads that make articles unviewable?
- If you are seeing advertisements that don't look good, link to bad sites, etc, please connect with us via using the resources found on Information:Questions, our with Nicjansma directly and send the following:
- Your current browser and geo-location
- A screenshot of the ad
- Right-click and select Copy link address or Copy image address and share the URL
- (Optionally, if you feel safe) click through the ad and let me know the target URL
How can I not see the ads?
- If you don't want to see the ads, we understand. You can avoid the ads on Sarna in one of two ways:
- Use an ad-blocker. We suggest uBlock Origin
- If you're doing this, we may detect the ad-blocker and show an unobtrusive text box that suggests other ways of supporting Sarna
- You can hide this message if desired
- By default, users are assigned the SarnaAdSense skin, which shows ads
- All of the other Skins do not have ads. For example, the default Sarna skin does not have ads
- You can change your skin here once logged in
- Use an ad-blocker. We suggest uBlock Origin
Can I ask to put my own ad on BTW?
- The BattleTechWiki maintains a rotating banner in the right column of most pages for community projects, such as clubs, homebrew games, commercial services and other projects that would be of interest to the BattleTech community. If you'd like to have your ad included in the Community Ads slot, please contact Nic directly. All we need is a 300px x 300px banner and the URL you'd like linked to.
