Angus Kempf was a Lyran Commonwealth officer.[1]

History[edit]

A small group of anonymous Lyran generals had become fed up with the ineffectual leadership of certain Social Generals, having seen them recently order several disastrous and irresponsible raids resulting in unnecessary casualties among various Lyran Guards detachments. To prevent Lyran blood from continuing to needlessly spill in their foolish quests for personal glory, the anonymous generals hired a mercenary outfit to remove two such officers, as they considered two deaths to save hundreds worth it.[1]

Angus Kempf was one such target, who was known to parade around in his overly equipped assault-class BattleMech. The mercenaries attacked his base on Veckholm, killing the unsuspecting Kempf but only disabling many of his security patrol's 'Mechs without killing them, as was requested. Kempf's successor, Brevet Colonel Nachtnebel, officially condemned the attack but privately acknowledged they had done the regiment a great service.[1]
