Mark Baron was an officer with the mercenary Gray Death Legion.[2]

History[edit]

Baron would sign on with the Gray Death Legion just as the contract with the Free Worlds League began. He was placed in charged of a reinforced company of Galleon Light Tanks and Vedette Medium Tanks.[3]

Armored Fighting Vehicle[edit]

Mark Baron used a Vedette Medium Tank, as his command vehicle, which he had named "Go For Broke".[4]

Normally crewed by two, a driver and commander/gunner. In ,"Go for Broke", Baron was a third, with Mackelvey driving and Staff Sergeant Ral Preston as gunner. This was necessary because he, as unit commander, had an entire company to watch over, but it made the crew compartment cramped and decidedly lacking in elbow space.

The "Go for Broke" was damaged during the assault on Valdis I and it is not known whether the tank was salvaged by the Legion techs.[5]
