* [[:Category:Sources under Moratorium]] now displays the Moratorium Date for each article with a <nowiki>{{moratorium}}</nowiki> tag.

* Because the date is now used in some simple calculations, the template is less forgiving of simple typographical errors like "Feburary". To handle these cases, the template displays a generic moratorium message when the date is not provided or the parser can't recognize it as a date.

:I approve of the change to the date system, I was actually going to ask you if you could impliment something like that for me. I would like you to retain the previous color system of both announced and moratorium tags using blue as we use red and pink for fanon and problems with the article. Moratorium is not a negative thing, it is a respectful notice.--[[User:Dmon|Dmon]] ([[User talk:Dmon|talk]]) 14:09, 30 December 2020 (EST)

::And as much as I think you have been a force for good on the wiki Tosta Dojen, extensive changes to the tags is really admin territory or at least something that should be done in cooperation with the admins.--[[User:Dmon|Dmon]] ([[User talk:Dmon|talk]]) 14:12, 30 December 2020 (EST).

:::All colors changed to the blue of the existing color scheme.

:::Coordinating with admins is a perfectly reasonable thing to require. What's the best way to go about doing that? Is there a specific place for discussing that sort of thing, or is it something to raise on a template talk page? ::::Thank you, and thank you for taking it in stride my minor telling off. A comment on a talk page is usually sufficent to draw attention of an admin. If it is something important/significant you can always comment on one of our talk pages, that pretty much guarentees a response.

::::Now onto the changes, I find the mechanic of the moratorium tag changing based on the date an interesting one. I am not entierly sold on the post release tag as I usually aim to have tags removed within 48hrs of expiring. But maybe we could use it to automatically transition the announced tag into a moratorium tag.--[[User:Dmon|Dmon]] ([[User talk:Dmon|talk]]) 15:41, 30 December 2020 (EST)

:::::Fwiw, I like the change. Thanks Tosta Dojen! And I'll also say that the Sarna "staff" is spread so thin that I appreciate users taking the initiative. I may not get as much done myself these days as I used to, but I am still watching and can still offer friendly guidance where required, or even don the admin hat <s>and brandish the badge</s> if need be. {{ emoticon | ;) }} [[User:Frabby|Frabby]] ([[User talk:Frabby|talk]]) 15:47, 30 December 2020 (EST)

::::::Wait we had badges??? {{ emoticon | :-O}}. Seriously I do appreciate the iniative, and feel we need users who are willing to push the wiki in new directions. Subtle I am not however, I tend to use sledgehammers to crack nuts (or Assault 'Mechs to scout) when in Admin mode in any of the communities I admin. So don't take it as any personal malice, I am friendly too!!--[[User:Dmon|Dmon]] ([[User talk:Dmon|talk]]) 16:24, 30 December 2020 (EST)

::::: I, too, really appreciate the conditional nature of the tag. Well done.--[[User:Revanche|Revanche]] ([[User_talk:Revanche|talk]]|[[Special:Contributions/Revanche|contribs]]) 11:28, 30 June 2021 (EDT)
