'''Xera Wolf''' was a [[thirty-second century]] [[trueborn]] pilot of Clan Wolf's [[Ch'in (Bloodname)|Ch'in]] Bloodhouse. She was a member of the [[Steel Wolves]] faction.

==History==
As a [[Star Commander]], she took part in the Steel Wolves' [[3133]] expedition to [[Achernar]], flying air superiority missions against militia fighters as well as providing air support to ground forces.

After the death of her commanding Officer, Laren [[Mehta (Bloodname)|Mehta]], she won an unaugmented [[Trial of Position]] for the rank of [[Star Captain]]. Xera later attained the rank of [[Star Colonel]], and command of the aerospace assets of the Steel Wolves.

Along with the majority of the Steel Wolves, Xera left [[Galatea]] when [[Anastasia Kerensky]] tried to turn them into mercenaries.

Xera subsequently joined [[Galaxy Commander]] [[Varnoff Fetladral]]'s command.

In the course of their campaigns, she had to deal with Fetladral's dishonorable ways. After uncovering ample evidence of Fetladral's intention of not honoring the outcome of his Trial against Kerensky, Xera ousted him from the Steel Wolves, becoming [[Galaxy Commander]] and commander of the remnants of the Steel Wolves.

===Invasion of Achernar===
During the invasion of [[Achernar]], Xera was under the command of another trueborn pilot who was killed in action during the opening hostilities.  With the death of her commanding officer, she believed that she was the rightful heir to become commander of the fighter wing; unfortunately for her, another pilot named Drake believed that he was to become the new CO. In a one-sided [[Trial of Position]], Xera was able to overcome her opponent and became the new commanding officer of the invasion force's fighters.<ref>''A Call to Arms'', p. 97</ref>

For the rest of the invasion, Xera and her fighters were able to keep air dominance for the Steel Wolves.  Once the order to return to the DropShips was given, she and the remaining pilots boarded the ships and left Achernar.

===Steel Wolves' Commander===
Xera followed Anastasia for years, until she dissolved the unit, to create a [[mercenary]] one. Then, she, with [[Varnoff Fetladral]], recreated the Steel Wolves. She remained Varnoff's second in command until [[New Canton]]. When he uncovered his treachery, intending tobetray and kill Anastasia, she ousted him and his loyalists, becoming the Steel Wolves' commander. ===Mercenary Commander===
Eventually, as it became evident thyan the [[Clan Wolf]] won't accept them into their fold, Xera had to swallow her pride and turn the Steel Wolves into a mercenary unit too, working exclusively for the [[Free Worlds League]]. About 3152, she seek to claim Wolves' bondsmen'' to reinforce the Clan's influence into the group. At the dawn of [[IlClan Era]], she heard news about Varnoff: he had became a [[pirate]], creating a pirate gang which he called the [[Wolfkin Keshik]], but she, despite wanting to take him down, she refused to broke her contract with the League to do so. ==Vehicles==
Early in her career as Star Commander and Star Captain during the Achernar campaign she flew a ''[[Visigoth]]''.

As Star Colonel and later Galaxy Commander, she commanded a ''[[Titan (DropShip class)|Titan]]''-class aerospace carrier, the ''Roofvogel'' and used it as her [[Cluster]] flagship. In personal combat she piloted a ''[[Scytha]]'' [[OmniFighter]].
