Frye was a tall, lean, leathery-skinned officer in his mid-fifties, a bit on the balding side, gray-mustached, and possessing the twinkling, catch-all eyes of some improbable bird of prey.
Major Jonathan Frye, was an exceptional commander, experienced, battle-hardened, and loved by his men, but an injury had left him deaf in one ear and unable to wear a neurohelment.[2] He continued commanding via Dropship Operations or on one of the Legion's scout tanks.
More recently, Frye's Third Battalion uncovered a number of crated, mint condition Mark XXI Nighthawk suits in an underground Star League cache in Karbala, during a mission across the Lyran Commonwealth border into the Rasalhague Free Republic. These suits would become very useful for the Legion.[3]
