Smith was a large man, and stalwart fighter, who specialized in escorting infantry, battle armor and combat vehicles. Generally working for the Kell Hounds, he did however take freelance assignments, including while outside his 'Mech as a bodyguard. His bodyguard clients include a wide range, from high-profile officials to those who had simply crossed the wrong people.[1]

Gabriel Smith was known to have piloted a XNS-11-A Xanthos BattleMech, nicknamed Wooly.[1]
