Personal Welcome
Welcome indeed to our little self-help group here! Looking forward to your contributions. If you have any questions, ask. Please. We need more contributors and are thankful for all comers.
Also, a Leopard 1A5? Not even sure where you can legally get one. Or what the going price would be. But that sounds like a fun project. Good luck with that. ;) Frabby (talk) 01:53, 5 February 2021 (EST)
- Hi Frabby, thank you for the welcome! I'm looking forward to helping out here for sure :-)
- As for the Leopard 1A5, their former users have surplussed some, the main thing with tanks is them being de-milled so that the main gun is no longer functional. One needs deep pockets for one too. Not only do they tend to not cost less than $250,000 USD, a complete oil and coolant change costs around $1,000 USD! I just need to become a millionaire first. LOL! For now, though, I'm really enjoying my M35A3 - it's like driving a big pick-up truck :-) — The preceding unsigned comment was posted by Beemer (talk • contribs) 07:33, 5 February 2021 .
Ashley Watkins
Thank you for that complete refresh of the Ashley Watkins article. Seriously, it is one of the more interesting real-life people articles on here. Good job.--Revanche (talk|contribs) 19:05, 16 July 2022 (EDT)
- Thank you for the kind words! Earlier this year I posted a thread on the BattleTech forums asking about former writers providing background on what they did for the TROs like how the current writers do for the Unit of the Week fan articles. It was there that Ashley came up as well as some 'mech design credits for Blaine Pardoe. I hope to add similar information to other writer articles on here.--Beemer (talk) 19:24, 16 July 2022 (EDT)
- Please do. I had a similar idea, for interviews of long-past writers, for a "news" section on Sarna, but could never quite crystalize how I wanted to present it (or even find the writers). This article is a far more coherent presentation of what a writer would want to say to "us".--Revanche (talk|contribs) 21:56, 16 July 2022 (EDT)
- As you probably saw from the history it took me a few tries yesterday to get it presentable. I know that in the past Sean interviewed IP contributors like Matt Plog as part of Sarna News. Do you think those interviews would be a good idea to include in the people pages?
