History
Eichner was born on Gienah, in the Lyran Commonwealth.[2] He eventually left for the Free Worlds League,[3] and graduated from Nestor's Nellus Academy.[4]
In October 3067, Eichner brought a group of eight top Nellus Academy cadets along on what was intended to be a straightforward voyage to Concord, in theory as a public relations event in honor of Nestor's new refueling station. Less openly, the cadets were meant to help detect a Lyran spy operating at the Nestor spaceport.[5] After setting off on the Requirement on 21 October, Eichner and the cadets ran into trouble: hijackers, the Lyran-hired Bloody Stoats, who came to capture the general.[6] Clashes between the cadets and the Stoats followed, clashes that led to the DropShip crashing on the planetoid Phobos in the Gienah system. Eichner was injured by his would-be captors and the crash, kept alive by cadet Lily Orit's treatment.[1]
During the ongoing clashes on Phobos, Eichner was captured by the Stoats and taken to their base.[7] The Nellus cadets raided the base in search of Eichner, and successfully found him. However, with Stoats soldiers incoming, the only escape route available was a ceiling panel too small to fit the general. He sacrificed his life to allow the cadets to escape, finding time to send one last message to the incoming League forces: a recommendation for special honors for the cadets.[8]
Description
By 3067, Eichner was at least sixty years old, but fit enough to be on par with those at thirty. He had snow-white hair, a full head cut short, and he kept his uniform perfect.[4] Under his uniform, his body hair had gone gray.[9]
