Sao-wei Janice Abermann was a member of various mercenary and Capellan Confederation units during the thirty-first century.[1][2][3][4]

History[edit]

Early Career[edit]

Abermann was initially, prior to 3025, a MechWarrior and member of an attack lance within the mercenary Twenty-first Centauri Lancers.[1] She was at this time reputed to be a cold-blooded killer who would take big risks to win a battle, which left her 'Mech in constant need to repairs. Despite treating all opponents and support staff with contempt, and a fashion sense which harkened back to a twenty-eighth century neogothic style, this didn't stop men and women making fools of themselves over her in bars after hours.[1][2][3]

Later Career[edit]

After leaving the Twenty-first Centauri Lancers, Abermann served with McCarron's Armored Cavalry for a time, before being cashiered for her poor attitude. She was however able to obtain a position as a Sao-wei with St. Cyr's Armored Hussars, who were in desperate need of quality MechWarriors. During the Word of Blake Jihad she fought both the Word of Blake and pirates with the Hussars.

While past failures had by this time blunted her antagonistic personality, she was still an aggressive warrior, wearing out her long term 'Mech such that it finally required replacement.[4]

BattleMech[edit]

Abermann was known to have initially piloted a Catapult BattleMech.[1][2][3] The constant damage inflicted on it by Abermann however resulted in it finally being replaced during the Jihad with an Eyleuka BattleMech.[4]
