==Unit Description==
The small battalion mercenary battalion that was known for also being beer brewery.

==History==
The unit was formed in early 3050s by several former [[Federated Commonwealth]] soldiers who deserted Clan frontlines of [[Clan Invasion]].  The mercenary estiblished themselves in [[Circinus Federation]], where they found working reinforcing [[Black Warriors]].

In [[3056]], the unit commander, Major Burly Reed, was very unsatified with quality of beer found in the Federation.  So he estiblished as side business as beer brewry, using unit's name.  The mercenaries side of Brew became security force for now corporate brewry business.  Where they became highly popular with the Federation's brewrys.<ref>''Mercenaries Suppliment II'' page 57 - early history more detailed in Suppliment II.</ref>

After the [[Marian Hegemony]] invasion of [[3066]], Major Burly Reed was killed. Lucus "Hurly Reed, young brother of Burly took command of the unit and the brewry.  He expanded operations of the brewry and established second brewry on Galatea in [[3067]].  He turned over operations in the Federation to his exWife.<ref>''Mercenaries Supplemental Update'' page 100 - Reed's Brew unit profile - what happened in Federation.</ref>

Due to the high costs of the new brewry and the moving to a new world forced new Major to shift the Reed's Brew back into the mercenary trade from security for bewry.  

However, the unit suffered from declining rating due to lack of combat over the years, as of [[3067]] the unit was unemployeed. 

===Jihad===
In [[3068]] was approached by the [[Word of Blake]], but declined due to stigma that would come with being associated with them.  Luck change late in the year when employe named Mr. Askai, whom offered long-term contract for a unspecific unemployer. In addition long-term contract, Mr. Askai's employee form a partnership to help distribute merceries's beer through number outlets throught out the [[Free Worlds League]].  Major Reed accepted, leasted a small [[Jumpship]] and pair DropShips for the 18 month campaign. 

The unit commence series of raids in [[Rim Commonality]] and [[Duchy of Andurien]], starting in February of [[3069]] on [[Fadiffolu]] where unit struck against Contart Mining facility.  The unit easily overpowered the planetary militia and took several ton of ore.  The unit confidence grew until they ran into a ambushed by mysterious force on [[Tohelet]]. Despite Major Reed determination to break their unit's stigma of party patrol from Federation years,the unit took heavily lossed as they were forced to withdraw.

The ambush was wakeup call, Major Reed hired two former League officers to instill teach the unit discipline and show them finer points of tactics.  Their preformance in their raids improve dramaticly with fewer losses. The unit had become battle harden fighting force once the contract with Mr. Askai was completed in [[3070]].  The unit had ganthered 1,200 tons worth of booty from their raids.  

During the unit two month furlough in the [[Capellan Confederation]], Mr. Askai had once again re-hired the unit for another contract to raid locations along the Combine-Federated Suns border.  The unit with mounting success, they moved build expands it brewry business to other worlds, such as [[Loongana]] where new brewry being constructed.<ref>''Mercenaries Supplemental Update'' page 100 - Expanded Jihad history of the unit.</ref>

The Reed's Brew roll one unit out four from B column from Free World League rolling table found in Field Manuel Updates.  If the unit is the attacker, it gains a +1 to its inititive.
