Two colonization efforts landed on the world at the same time, one predominantly Japanese and Korean, while the other was composed of a German/Austrian group. Two colonization efforts landed on the world at the same time, one predominantly Japanese and Korean, while the other was composed of a German/Austrian group. Each group landed on a different continent, and eventually fighting to control all four continents took place. Only mediation by the [[Terran Hegemony]] brought peace to the world. During the Succession Wars, Skat changed hands between the Combine and Federated Suns, with each group of colonists rising to power as appropriate.
