The Tyr regiment launched an offensive across the Lule on 1 June 3029, striking across the river at a point known as Cosognome Crossing, directly into a defending force consisting of two 'Mech [[companies]] from the Ninth, an infantry regiment and a battalion of armor. The Ninth fought bravely, but their poor equipment let them down, with the lead company of the Tyr pushing the Ninth's forces back while Lyran combat engineers frantically constructed a pontoon bridge behind them.
