The Fourth Succession War started as a wedding gift by Hanse Davion to his bride Melissa Steiner; it ended with the Federated Suns taking control of a third of the Capellan Confederation's worlds. It was quick and brutal, and set the stage for the War of 3039 between the newly-formed Federated Commonwealth and the Draconis Combine.
