General
For a long time the academy stood in the shadow of the Albion institution. After existing during the succession wars, the academy began to prosper again with the support of Ian Davion (a former graduate) and later his brother Hanse Davion. The material saved on Haltstead Station was the base to build the NAIS around the military facility. The NAIS is today the most developed and sophisticated military academy in the hole Inner Sphere
Atmosphere
The life on campus is a daily challenge for the cadets. Only students who are stress-resistant can go further, the weaker are transfered to less demanding academies or are dropped out entirely. The pressure to excel in the studying is high. Cadets with the best results can gain a responsible position or enter service early with the Training Cadre.
Special Notes
Every acdemy member (instructor, staff, cadet) must pass a strict backround screening by the military/civil secret agencies (DMI/MIIO). The Davion familiy can count on the total loyalty of the academy since centuries. The training cadres content 3 fully fledged 'Mech regiments and supporting elements.
