The Orkney was a Star Lord-class JumpShip. In 3029, it carried elements of the Twentieth Avalon Hussars to Corey in the fifth attack wave of the Fourth Succession War. Upon arriving in the Corey system, the Orkney ruptured the heat exchange in its drive-coolant system, leading to radioactive contamination and poisonous gases. The ship was saved by heroic Sergeant Theodore Osson who entered the engineering section in a space suit and repaired the coolant system, staving off an explosion that would have destroyed the Orkney.[1] Compared to this drama, the actual conquest of Corey was reported as anticlimactic.
