Major General Stewart "Tripp" Stimpson VI was the commander of the Star League Defense Force's 209th BattleMech Division from at least 2758 to 2764.[1]

Stimpson and his division were charged with peacekeeping on the Lyran Commonwealth / Rim Worlds Republic border. In 2758, this required repulsing a Rim World attack on the Lyran world of Mercedes, before having to respond to a Lyran counter-raid on the Republic world of Stanley. Stimpson was able to quickly defeat the Sixth Lyran Guards on Stanley, after convincing its commander General Burns to withdraw before the Lyrans suffered too much damage.[1]
