Kestrel Syrnan was an aerospace fighter pilot in service to the Kuritan military. He was assigned to the military forces occupying Verthandi in the early thirty-first century.

Overview

Lieutenant Syrnan was in command of Patrol One-Nine in close proximity to Verthandi in 3025 when an unscheduled supply DropShip made its approach to the planet. He and his wingman, an inexperienced pilot named Smetnov, were ordered to make a close visual inspection of the incoming vessel. Realizing that the "supply ship" was in fact an unauthorized intruder, Syrnan sounded the alarm.[1]

The two fighters of Patrol One-Nine then came under heavy fire from the DropShip, one sustaining laser damage and the other hits from a missile volley.[2]

Notes

While Mercenary’s Star notes that both fighters of Patrol One-Nine had their "power plants momentarily stilled" by the DropShip’s salvo, it does not specify what became of the fighters or their pilots.
