Description
A Compact Fusion Engine is similar to a Fusion Engine, except that it takes up half as much space. It weighs about fifty percent more than the Standard Fusion Engine, limiting its use to Mechs that require a lot of internal space and have tonnage to spare. One side benefit of this arrangement is that it is harder for an opponent to score a hit on the fusion engine with weapons fire.
A relatively new concept, few base variant 'Mechs utilize this engine. One BattleMech that does use the Compact Fusion Engine is the Word of Blake's Archangel.
