Welcome

Welcome, Doneve, to BattleTechWiki!

We look forward to your contributions and want to help you get off to a good strong start. Hopefully you will soon join the army of BattleTech Editors! If you need help formatting the pages, visit the manual of style. For general questions go to the Help section or the FAQ. If you can't find your answer there, please ask an Admin.

Additional tips
Here's some extra tips to help you get around in the wiki:

  • For policies and guidelines, see The Five Core Policies of BattleTechWiki and the BTW Policies. Another good place to check out is our market of Projects, to see how the smaller communities within BTW do things in their particular niche areas.
  • Each and every page (articles, policies, projects, images, etc.) has its very own discussion/talk page, found on the tab line at the top of the page. This is a great place to find out what the community is discussing along that subject and what previous issues have already been solved.
  • If you want to play around with your new wiki skills, the Sandbox is for you. Don't worry: you won't break anything. A great resource for printing out is the Wiki Cheat Sheet.
  • If you're not registered, then please consider doing so. At the very least, you'll have a UserPage that you own, rather than sharing one with the community.
  • Also consider writing something about yourself on your UserPage (marked as "Doneve" at the top of the page, though only do this if you're registered). You'll go from being a 'redshirt' to a 'blueshirt,' with the respect of a more permanent member.
    • This is really helpful for the admins, as it gives your account that touch of "humanity" that assists us in our never-ending battle with spambots.
  • For your first few edits on the wiki, please do not add any URLs (which can be an indicator of SPAM).
  • Consider introducing yourself on our Discord server.
  • In your Preferences, under the edit tab, consider checking Add pages I create to my watchlist and Add pages I edit to my watchlist, so that you can see how your efforts have affected the community. Check back on following visits by clicking on watchlist.
  • If you're bored and want to find something to do, try the Random button in the sidebar, or check out the List of Wanted Pages. Or even go to Special Pages to see what weird stuff is actually tracked by this wiki.
  • Please sign your name on Talk pages using four tildes (~~~~) or by clicking on the circled button in this image; this will automatically produce your name (or IP address, if you are editing anonymously) and the date.

Again, welcome to Sarna's BattleTechWiki!

Welcome

Hey, welcome to BTW and thanks for your work so far. Please add references (see Help:References) to the Paul Marik article in order to add legitmacy to the article. Hope to see more from you. --Revanche (talk|contribs) 18:59, 12 August 2009 (UTC)

Use of copyrighted work

Welcome to BattleTechWiki. Thank you for signing up and for your desire to improve this wiki. Unfortunately, I had to remove the work you did because it is not permitted to copy work from other sources, including published BT books (see BattleTechWiki:Copyrights for more information). Please continue to edit. Since you appear to be new to wiki editing, I encourage you to use the sandbox to test out your edits and become familiar with wiki code. Once again, thanks and welcome! --Scaletail 00:36, 14 August 2009 (UTC)

Article work

Hello Doneve, I see you've been very busy lately. I also work add article and bio on characters. You need type the articles in your own words. We can get into trouble you copy word for word from the books. Also, you need to also look at other articles. There are template for certain type articles you are writing. Black Omen‎ for example you wrote is word from word from the book. When listing a command you need to use templates. For mercenary commands you use this template. Help:CreateMercenaryUnitArticle. Copying this template you fill the information for the command and write in YOUR OWN WORDs the article. If you have questions, please contact me or one of the other writers or editors. -- Wrangler 19:41, 14 August 2009 (UTC)

Warning

I appreciate the fact that you want to help. I welcome your help, but you must work within the established guidelines and policies. In order to edit this wiki, you must own the text you are contributing. By copying text directly from books, you are violating the BattleTechWiki copyright policy. Please read it and familiarize yourself with this policy. You cannot be permitted to plagiarize work. You have already been informed of this by myself and an editor, yet you persist in violating this policy. Consider this your warning. --Scaletail 16:41, 15 August 2009 (UTC)

Block from editing

Doneve, I know that you are trying to help. I appreciate that. Nonetheless, you have willfully ignored my warnings. You cannot copy information from anyplace, not books, not websites, nowhere. You must own the words you submit to this wiki. I have blocked you from editing for one day. Please do not force me to take this action again, because it will become progressively longer. --Scaletail 00:16, 19 August 2009 (UTC)

Question

Hey Doneve! I am S.gage. I enjoy writing content for Sarna.net, and I understand how difficult languages can be, because I spent some time studying other languages. If you want to talk in another language with me, I may be able to converse. I can read and write Español, Français, Deutsche and a couple others (very poorly). If I can help you, let me know.--S.gage 06:18, 4 September 2009 (UTC)

Wirklich gibt's kein Problem.

OK, I am not certain I fully understand the question, but I will answer as best I can. Are you asking how you can see your own recent changes? If so, go to the top of your user page, on the right hand side click on "my contributions". If you want to see your changes on the "recent changes" page, simply remember to refresh the page after making the change. I hope this helps.--S.gage 02:36, 25 September 2009 (UTC)

. (0 Bytes) . . 209.160.56.254 (Diskussion) (→Pentagon Worlds and Death: "effecting the Inner Sphere" changed to "affecting ...") ganz am ende der rescent changes.....was ich fett markiert habe... --[User:Doneve]--

Also, jetzt verstehe ich.
OK, now I understand. You want to know how to explain your edits. Right under the textbox and next to "summary", you can write a small explanation of your edits. Was this helpful?--S.gage 02:52, 26 September 2009 (UTC)
