Description
The Rising Star is relatively unknown Star League era BattleMech that went onto serve as the basis of the Word of Blake's Legacy.[1]
Entering service with the Star League, the Rising Star was produced in limited numbers before being discontinued due to poor performance in battle. During a review of assault 'Mechs by Skobel during the 31st century that included the Rising Star, the main issue with the unappreciated 'Mech was traced to a faulty and flawed targeting system, Skobel correctly believing the 'Mech would be reborn with a new targeting system and a C3i Computer system.[1]
Weapons and Equipment
The Rising Star was built around a standard Pitban 240 Fusion Engine and heavy armor, features the later Legacy retained. Offensively the Rising Star mounted a single standard autocannon instead of the dual Ultra Autocannon/10s the Legacy carried.[1]
