History
In 2764, the unit was assigned, as a part of the 3rd Regimental Combat Team, XI Corps, Sixteenth Army, to District 3 of the Draconis Combine Military Region, and then transferred to an undisclosed district within the Periphery by 2765.[1] The 151st survived the Periphery Uprising and the Hegemony Campaign, to be absorbed by the Free Worlds League Military by 2784.[1]
As part of the Third Region of the Draconis Combine Military Region, the 151st Light Horse was a unit that was frequently called on to end pirate raiding. As such, they became known for their battlefield diplomacy. They were able to convince multiple pirates and raiders to surrender to them rather than the DCMS. As a result the number of actual pirate raids (as opposed to state-sponsored raiding masquerading as pirates) dropped to nearly nothing in 2765.[2]
