Template:InfoBoxStateUnit The 2nd Ariana Fusiliers are a Capellan Confederation unit that is considered a newcomer in comparison to other Succession War Era forces. It is the sister unit to the 1st Ariana Fusiliers.

History

The unit saw actions during the 1st Succession War on Chesterton 18 2812 where it suffered heavy damage to its 'Mech Lances thanks to Davion Aerospace fighters.[1]

The unit was then devastated while defending Tikonov and reduced to the point of only existing on paper after a series of raids between 2832-2833 by elements of House Davion's Ceti Hussars.

The regiment, for most of its time during the Succession Wars, was thinly spread on the worlds of Tikonov and Algot. With a status rating of regular its JumpShip capacities were stripped and sent to elite frontline units.

The 2nd Ariana successfully defended a brutal raid against Tikonov in 2987. The unit was rewarded for its resilient service with salvage from the Davion units it slaughtered. They were then re-organized into a mobile field force. Despite being considered a defensive formation, the regiment was sent on raids into the Capellan March to pave the way for future offensives into the region.

In the 4th Succession War the unit’s 1st battalion was destroyed in the failed defense of Tikonov although the other two battalion escaped only to be destroyed later on Algot during Operation Riposte.
