In 2764 SLS Admiral Perry was a Congress-class frigate, the lead WarShip of a three-ship reconnaissance squadron, the Draconis Rift Squadron, permanently attached to the Star League Defense Force XXXV Corps. The presence of the Draconis Rift Squadron was driven by the vast expanse of space covered by the expanse known as the Draconis Rift, and making up the Draconis Rift Squadron alongside the Congress-class Admiral Perry were two Vincent-class corvettes.[1]
