Amanda Ahn was born in a little planet nobody ever heard of started participating in local talent shows, winning repeatedly the Miss Congeniality award.
Somehow showing some 'Mech dance skills, a great-aunt was able to get travel for both of them to Solaris VII.
She worked for several stables until her great-aunt engineered a bidding spree which ended with Amanda having one of the best rookie contracts of the time.
She was a popular sensation in the Solaris Games thanks to her natural combat skills, style, optimism and scrappiness. Everything was going very well until her great-aunt died. Her new manager was not as good as her aunt at protecting her, and while trying to cope with her great-aunt's loss, her reputation was ruined by the scandalvids after it was discovered she was addicted to stimulants and alcohol.
She left Solaris VII after that and went to the Periphery to work as a mercenary.

Amanda "Showboat" Ahn is one of the Ronin MechWarriors designed for the BattleTech (video game). Featured only in the apocryphal computer game BattleTech video game, the character is considered apocryphal as well.[1]
