Canonicity[edit]
The only source featuring the Bear's Legacy is the 1995 Ghost Bear's Legacy expansion pack to the MechWarrior 2 computer game. Computer games as such are expressly excluded from the current definition of Canon, and even though canonical products do make an effort to treat (most) computer game storylines as canonical, this still does not mean content from the games is canon if it was not picked up in canonical sources. Thus, the Bear's Legacy, having never been mentioned in a canonical publication, remains apocryphal.
Notes[edit]
- Although the class of the Bear's Legacy is never mentioned, in-game images depict the distinct shape of a Hunter-class JumpShip in great detail and a less detailed model features in the mission "Defend on JumpShip," which takes place on the outer hull of the Bear's Legacy as the player has to defend it against Clan Smoke Jaguar forces in space.
