Bertram Amaris was the son of Rim Worlds Republic President Selanta Amaris.

The clear heir to rule the Republic after Selanta Amaris finally succumbed to her decades-long cancer, Bertram was assassinated in 2687 by his cousin Gregor Siever before he could be confirmed as president.[1][2]
