Although in the decades since its introduction to the ecosystem, natives of Brinton have become resistant to the plague; tests conducted in the early 3020's confirmed that nearly four of every five citizens are carriers of the virus.<ref name=BSUQ/> In [[3025]] Brinton was home to some fifty-five thousand technicians and other specialists and was a major electronics manufacturing and production center for the Taurian Concordat. Anyone who violated the restrictions on visiting Brinton was treated as being either a saboteur or spy.
