The SLS Cairo was a carrier WarShip serving in the Star League Defense Force Eleventh Fleet during the Periphery Uprising.

When rebels in the Taurian Concordat used a fuel ship to destroy the flagship of the Eleventh Fleet, the Texas-class battleship SLS Nebraska, the SLS Cairo was badly damaged by debris from the explosion. Whereas the SLS Nebraska was lost, the SLS Cairo managed to continue combat operations, despite having taken heavy damage.[2][3]
During Operation LIBERATION, the Cairo was attacked by Rim Worlds Republic aerospace fighters while the rest of her squadrons were sortied. Relying on Captain Pan Ballard and her squadron of Swifts for a screen they were successful in saving the Cairo. Ballard was posthumously awarded the Medal of Valor for her actions.[1]

The Cairo's class is unknown, but the SLDF had only a few carrier WarShips and deployment in the Eleventh Fleet suggests the Riga II.[4]
