Fronc Reaches

The New Colony region is the name given to the region of space located between the Magistracy of Canopus and the Taurian Concordat that was jointly colonized by the two powers following the renewal of their strategic alliance. Although the area was settled by the two powers, the settlers did not feel much of a connection to either side and began itching for independence from both of the powers.

This sentiment came to a head in 3062 when the self-proclaimed leader of the New Colony Region took the leaders of both of the powers, Emma Centrella and Jeffrey Calderon hostage on the planet of Detroit. He then asked the Federated Commonwealth for assistance in declaring the region independent. Although Liao troops sent by Sun-Tzu Liao landed on the planet and pacified its inhabitents, the leader of the Concordat, Jeffrey Calderon, was killed during the fighting. He would be replaced by Grover Shraplen, who immediately renewed his nation's new alliance with House Liao.
