Knee-high chittering alien insectoids, Goji were raised on Oshika as cattle. The context suggest that they may not be native to that world; kept in pens in a barn during wintertime, a power blackout to the barn could potentially kill them.
The smell of Goji crap was described as "horrible". Only poor people would eat their meat.
