James Short was a freelance mercenary MechWarrior during the Dark Age Era.[1]
Personal Appearance
Despite his name, Short was in fact very tall for a MechWarrior, leading to speculation he had been required to modify his 'Mechs cockpit to fit his long frame.[1]
History
Short was reputed to show no mercy on the battlefield, and was experienced enough not to fall for the feints and maneuvers which trapped lesser pilots, especially in light of his hatred for surprises.[1]

Short was known to have piloted a KGC-10-A King Crab BattleMech, nicknamed "Chief".[1]
