Jorge Belasco

Dr. Jorge Belasco was a scientist who worked on Project Phoenix, a BattleMech development project of House Davion at the Friden Aerospace Park on Hoff from approximately October 3020 until 13 May 3022. Conjecture suggests that he was a prominent person on the project, likely the overall project leader.

When the test area was threatened by elements of the attacking Black Widow Company on 13 May 3022, Dr. Belasco ordered two MechWarriors to use the functional protoype 'Mechs into action as a last line of defense. While the test facility was being evacuated, he remained behind. Since three prototype 'Mechs eventually faced off against the attackers it can be speculated that the third 'Mech was piloted by Dr. Jorge Belasco.

Although the scenario explicitly states one Super Griffin and two Super Wasps as the defending lineup, the fluff text consistently mentions only two 'Mechs and two MechWarriors. The German edition even places only one Super Wasp in the defending lineup.

The defense was apparently unsuccessful, and the defending 'Mechs were defeated. The fate of Dr. Jorge Belasco is unknown.
