History
Timur, with the Second Covenant Guards, was based on Van Diemen IV as of 3145.[1] In this role, Colonel Timur placed a strong emphasis on being adaptable on the battlefield, and often trained his troops in defensive combat drops behind enemy lines.[3]
In August 3151, Timur and the Second participated in the Covenant Worlds' invasion of the Wolf Empire, landing near the capital of Marcus on the 26th. Eventually engaging the Clan Wolf garrison near a Word of Blake Jihad era firebase, which called itself the 1286th Provisional Garrison Trinary, Timur only managed to achieve victory at great cost. The Second's losses in this battle included Timur's XO and several other junior officers.[2]
