Megan "Little Moose" O'Heron was the commanding officer of the Seventh Lyran Regulars as of late 3066.[1]

History[edit]

Kommandant O'Heron, serving with the Seventh Lyran Regulars, was stationed on Loric in 3062. O'Heron joined the unit at the same time her father Mike O'Heron took overall command and became the leader of its Third Battalion, in addition to her role as the regiment's unofficial morale officer. Working with her father, O'Heron boosted the Seventh Regulars' espirit de corps and, consequently, also improved its self-confidence and experience.[2]

When the Federated Commonwealth Civil War broke out, Kommandant O'Heron was left in command of the Seventh Regulars in an extremely unfortunate position for several reasons: her father had been killed in combat in September of 3066, the micromanagement of Margrave Richard Steiner was gradually dooming the defenders of Cavanaugh II, and the attacking Allied forces were better coordinated, more experienced, and held the numerical advantage. While O'Heron succeeded in reorganizing the remnants of the shattered Seventh in the wake of her father's death, her calls to the Margrave to remove her much-reduced troops from their part in the defense of Caerleon city were ignored, leaving them in a state of severe mental and physical exhaustion. O'Heron was promoted to colonel briefly before her tenure as the Seventh Regulars' commander ended in tragedy; when she advocated coming to terms with the attacking Allies, Margrave Steiner accused her of cowardice and treason and had her executed on 9 December. Cavanaugh II, the world the O'Herons fought and died for, fell to the Allies on 5 February 3067, following the surviving Seventh Regulars' mutiny against Steiner's last "fight to the last man" order.[1]
