Myomer was artificially created component resembling biological muscles, though being much more effective in strength to weight ratio. They are engaged with electrical current, and the strength of whole myomer depends on amount of fibers in it activated, not the current provided (though it has to be high enough to activate them).

In order to operate a very high current need to flow through myomers. Through fingers of Mechs the multi-kilowatt current flows, and this raises multiple times when it comes to big once, like on the legs. Myomers have high electrical resistance, causing large sparse heat production, a heat which needs to be dispersed or the fibers will fry themselves. However this also give Mechs an advantage - myomers cannot be stunned or shred apart by electrical discharges, even more as Mech armor have low resistance discharging any strong electrical hits (like the one from thunderbolt) into the ground.

Production and composition

Myomers were made of microscopical polyacetylene tubes filled with a acti-strandular fiber. Fibers are creation of biologically engineered bacteria which is mixed with specific polymers and than it all is squirted into the tubes. Later on the tubes are put under electricity thanks to which fibers arrange themselves into a complex nanostructure in a mood of myosin and actin proteins in biological muscles.
