Portable Life Support Unit
Overview
A Portable Life Support Unit is used in the event of life-support system failure on a spacecraft. Roughly the size of a briefcase the standard unit has a built-in air supply, filtration and recycling system, and power supply. It can be hooked into any environmental suit or the life-support outlet of a room and provide enough heat and air for one person to survive up to 90 hours, two people to survive 45 hours, three to survive 30 hours and so on.[1]
