The Quixote-class frigate was originally designed as a battlecruiser, however cost-saving attempts not only reduced the Quixote's size but resulted in the ship receiving engines too small for it. Political machinations among the various Terran Hegemony Departments also led to the purchase of 250 of these dubious vessels.
