Randall Shibayaku was a notable officer of the First Robinson Rangers during the Clan Invasion.[1]

Leftenant Shibayaku's martial-artist family had served in the Armed Forces of the Federated Suns for twenty generations and he applied what he learned in the dojo to 'Mech combat by creating what he laughingly called "Mech Fu." Shibayaku continued to refine his skills until they were second nature and opponents who thought his 'Mech's hatchet was the main threat in close combat soon discovered it was only one of his close-in weapons.[1]
