Description

First discovered when Interstellar Expeditions accidentally found a thriving empire hidden deep within the California Nebula, the T-Fighter was remarkable for its ineptitude against Inner Sphere aerospace fighters. This was exemplified when multiple squadrons were shot down by a single Huscarl during the hostile first contact between Interstellar Expeditions and the native Star Empire.[1] The T-Fighter's underwhelming presence in combat is, however, somewhat offset by their ubiquity; as such, the Star Empire's aerospace tactics are primarily based on swarming the enemy with outstandingly superior numbers.[2]

Weapons and Equipment

The T-Fighter's armament consists only of two Laser Cannons. On paper, this allows each T-Fighter to do a respectable amount of damage to other fighters, however the fighter finds itself held back by the Star Empire's substandard targeting and tracking systems. As a result, the fighter can only effectively engage at extremely short range, and even then it has difficulty lining up shots.[3] Combined with its incredibly thin armor and lackluster speed, individual T-Fighters are rarely a threat to even the lightest of their Inner Sphere counterparts. That in mind, when multiple squadrons are fielded their massed fire can prove highly effective against ground targets.

Notes

  • The T-Fighter is non-canonical, only existing in the April Fools Day publication Welcome to Nebula California.
  • The T-Fighter is based on the Tie-Fighter from science fiction film series Star Wars.
  • Like all units introduced in Welcome to Nebula California, the T-Fighter's art has only ever been shown in silhouette, similar to the Unseen BattleMechs.
