No more galleries?

I am not sure anymore, but was it not said, that every image must link to a relevant article and that there should be no more dedicated gallery pages? I do not want to discredit anyones work, I am just asking. Harry (talk) 07:32, 20 March 2013 (PDT)

Proper categorisation would make dedicated gallery articles superfluous - you could just go to the category itself, which would behave like one. Plus you can ferret out those images that aren't actually used. Dirk Bastion (talk) 08:33, 20 March 2013 (PDT)
