Okay, clan warriors are never promoted, they fight trials of position. Whether they are uncontested trials is the matter to be discussed. Diana Pryde was not Diana Pryde in the destruction of the Steel Vipers on Jade Falcon worlds, she was still Diana. Her slaying of the Steel Viper Khan won her a nomination from Marthe Pryde herself for a bloodname. After the destruction of the Falcon Guard on Twycross during Operation Audacity, the Khan stated that Diana Pryde would "Fight" a trial of position for the right to command the Falcon Guards, and be tasked with rebuilding the unit. No one would oppose her, though, because only a freeborn bloodnamed warrior would not feel slighted by commanding the dezgra unit, much as her gene/father and free/father had before the Tukayidd campaign.
