Description
A Telescan is a common electronic device geared towards finding and displaying news stories. Connecting to the local communications network, either directly or through its integral wireless receiver, the telescan searches through the network for items based on a criteria created by the user. When the desired news is located, such as sports scores or interstellar politics, the telescan then displays them on a light-up marquee screen. While useful for keeping abreast of the latest events the telescan is only useful on worlds which have a comprehensive telecom service.[1]
