Purpose

This template attempts to warn a first time offender on BTW's Vandalism policy and is intended where the providing Editor assumes good faith on the part of the offender. In other words, for this first level warning, the Editor is assuming that the offender is unaware that his/her edit could be considered in poor form and just needs to be informed of the BTW policy.

The four levels of warning are:

1. Assumes good faith
2. No faith assumption
3. Assumes bad faith; stern cease and desist
4. Assumes bad faith; strong cease and desist, last warning

Usage

  • Place one of the bolded codes below on the user's talk page:
{{subst:Spam-1}}
{{subst:Spam-1|Article}} references a specific article
{{subst:Spam-1|Article|Additional text}} adds more text onto the end of the message
  • Replace the terms following the pipes ( | ) with the name of the page where the offense took place (second and third code) and any additional comments necessary to help alleviate the problem (third code only).
