Overview
The Wakizashi is a type of Japanese shortsword, the the companion blade to the Katana. Together they are known as a daisho, the traditional symbol of the ancient samurai, and wearing the daisho is an honor restricted to graduates of certain prestigious military academies such as the Sun Zhang Academy.[1]
